What the hell is Rugby Union anyway?
Most Americans would recognize Rugby Union as some version of football. Although there are similarities, they are definitely different sports with different rules--like no pads and no forward passing. Soccer fans might recognize the field position vs possession aspect of the game and the importance of kicking (although it is important to note that rugby, unlike soccer, is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen!). Bottom line: Although Rugby Union can be a very nuanced game, at it's core it is very, very simple and easy to understand.
Can I play QB?
No, you can't. At least not in name (Fly Half or #10 is the closest to that position). But, there are 15 to choose from and rugby is unique among team sports as there is a place on the field for any size, fitness level, speed and agility athlete. The good news, is everybody plays offense AND defense Plus, where else can you legally tell people you are a hooker?
Where are games played?
On a pitch. It's like a field, only considerably more English...
Is it really that simple?
